RANGE RULES

Shooting inside an indoor range is vastly different than shooting outside. Therefore we have policies and rules in place to help protect all.

First time visitors must have a current photo ID. If you have never registered, please come about 10 minutes early as we must have a current waiver on file and renewed yearly. All first-time users regardless of experience must watch our 5-minute range safety video. These needs to be done just once. You will also need to sign a waiver.

No one is permitted to enter the building wearing a balaclava or full covering face mask. Signs are posted at the doors. It’s a bad idea to wear what is universally accepted as a tool used by armed robbers and your walking into a gun store. All the range lanes and other areas have cameras that record 24/7. The images are stored off site and staff has no access to them.

Please understand we have up to twenty-some people of various skill levels with loaded firearms using our facility at times. We do reserve the right to ask anyone to leave who ignores instructions, or who displays poor judgment, or who ignore the rules of the range. Commands issued by range staff must be followed immediately. When the command CEASE FIRE is given: STOP SHOOTING immediately and REMOVE your finger from the trigger; keep the gun POINTED down range; WAIT for further instructions from range personnel.

All firearms MUST remain on the bench in the shooting stall and within the shooting stall in general. When done shooting, the slide should be locked back, or cylinder knocked out or action open and magazines removed BEFORE you leave your stall, even if your just walking to the counter behind you to pack up. Everyone in the range should see if you have a safe weapon. Never turn to talk to someone with a weapon in your hands or leave your stall with a gun in your hands that has not been made safe. Firearms need to be pointed downrange at all times, even when you set the gun down. No firearms should ever be loaded on the back counter. Guns remain on the firing line. You can reload magazines on the back counter but without your gun being there. The reason for this is you can become absent minded and insert your mag before your on the firing line while the gun is pointed at other people. In the event you bring a “lot” of guns, let us know so we can assist getting them stored inside the range for safe use.

Assume your firearm is loaded at all times. Always keep your finger off the trigger until on target and firearm is pointed downrange. Only aim at your own downrange target. Before any firearm is handed to anyone, it must be cleared as unloaded; magazine removed, cylinder open, action locked open. Make sure your firearm is safe to fire. Firing at other customer’s targets, as well as the walls and ceiling or ANYTHING other than your target is prohibited and might be considered a criminal offense. Accidental or otherwise, you are responsible for any damages you may cause, so make sure your finger is off the trigger until on target.

In the event of a malfunction, place the weapon down on the bench and either press the assistance button on the target screen or walk outside to grab someone for help. Even if you know how to clear it, we will come in and provide a over watch of others around you until the gun is cleared. When clearing a firearm, keep your finger off the trigger! Do not step out of the shooting box with the gun in your hand, do not bring it outside to the counter!

Eye and ear protection must be worn at all times while in the range.

A maximum of (3) people is allowed per shooting position.

Due to company policy and insurance regulations, we will not rent a handgun anyone who comes in alone seeking a rental. Feel free to bring a friend or family member with you. Only ammo purchased from us may be used in rented firearms.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property. Individuals displaying the effects of, or thought to be under the influence of, drugs or alcohol will be prohibited from using any of the ranges or handling any firearms. Even with recent changes to Ohio law, If you or someone in your party smells of marijuana, we can not sell you a firearm, permit you to hold a firearm, or permit you on the range. This includes medical marijuana.

All shooters under the age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present while shooting and a waiver must be signed.  Shooters between18-21 may shoot and rent long guns as well as purchase long guns and ammunition. Shooters 21 years of age or older may bring their own handguns and ammunition, (restrictions on ammunition below) rent handguns and purchase ammunition.

No inexperienced shooters are allowed on any of the ranges without prior instruction, coaching, and approval of the Range Officer. Group and private instruction is available for all levels of experience.

All guns to be fired should be brought in unloaded and in a case to the uncasing area inside the range and brought to the firing line to be loaded. The barrel should remain pointed downrange at all times while loading. The only instance a firearm shall be loaded is when shooting down the firing lane.  No person shall leave their assigned firing lane with a loaded firearm. When you finish shooting, unload and re-case your firearm before leaving the range. Please place your trash in the receptacle. Open doors to/from the range one at a time to avoid shutting down the air system. The range is under pressure.

Keep behind the firing line at all times. Do not lean forward or go beyond the firing platform for any reason. If something falls in front of the firing line, alert the staff immediately and we will make sure it is retrieved safely. You may pick up your own brass so long as it is behind the firing line.

You do not have to clean up your brass, but if you do, please push it forward into the range. Do not draw it back into the range.

Food and beverages are prohibited inside the range but are ok in training sessions during breaks.

Proper dress attire is highly recommended. Ball caps to keep lead dust from settling on hair and to keep hot casings from falling behind glasses. No low cut tops (hot shell casings again), proper footwear (no flip flops, etc.) for a good stance and again to protect against hot shell casings.

If unsafe behavior is noticed, then please make sure that the Range Officer is notified of such action immediately. Please ask any of the Range Officers for clarification if you have any questions.

Steel, armor piercing, tracer, military surplus, and unjacketed ammunition are prohibited. Ammunition will be inspected and tested by the Range Officers. Repeated violation of this rule will result in permanent barring from the range. We reserve the right to inspect all carrying cases & ammo. MUZZLELOADERS/BLACK POWDER are not allowed on the range for safety reasons and overwhelming the air system filters.

The Range Officers reserve the right to prohibit targets that are deemed to be offensive or unsafe. Use the appropriately sized target that is placed at eye level to ensure that the bullets will enter the backstop.

No handgun drawing from a holster is allowed without the prior approval of the Range Safety Officer.

You should wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after using the range to remove any traces of lead.
